The Difference Between a Car Window Master Switch and a Power Window Switch

The car window master switch is a component that controls all windows and door locks in the car, usually located on the driver's side door panel armrest or center console. It can be damaged from normal wear or excessive moisture and can be easily replaced with a screwdriver.
An electric window switch is a unit that controls the raising and lowering of individual windows, usually located on each door, and only operates the window on that door. It may fail due to an open circuit or a bad contact, which can be detected with a test light or a multimeter.
The difference between car window master switch and electric window switch is that the former is a multi-function switch and the latter is a single-function switch. The former controls all window and door locks, and includes the window lock switch (if present). The latter can only control one window and has no locking function.
What a car window master switch and an electric window switch have in common is that they both get their power from the battery electrical system. Typically, the battery voltage is sent through the fuse box to the car's main window switch (or control module), which is then distributed to the individual power window switches. They are all connected using blade type connectors and have positive and negative terminals.
